Camp it up

10th August 2010

Ok, so I’ve failed already at the aforementioned ‘doing this properly’. But better late than never, eh?

So… I ventured off on a sunny Monday What a lovely drive to Anderby Creek to pitch my tent and get away form you ‘orrible lot, with the intention of writing some songs.

I packed some food in a box. For your viewing pleasure and amazement I include photo of all the items All of this...
and one of them magically packed into the box. ...fitted in this! Yes, my skills are abundant and limitless. 6 years of packing decorating gear into a VW Polo has taught me a few things.

I mostly did reading (a lot by candlelight when it got dark)
but managed to fit in a trip to the beach
And also some songwriting pigsty. I have completed a new and as yet nameless song, but I like it and I hope you will too. Similarly to new-ish song “Overgrown” (which you may have heard us do live as we have yet to record it), it will feature a track with some yummy loops and bits and tings. Oooh.

I spent the week at a campsite which has some animals floating about. On more than one occasion I was visited by chickens. Look at her crazed, carnivorous eyes! The photo does not do it justice, they came in a flock of about 8 and one cheeky little madam physically tried to eat the soup I was cooking in a pan. I wasn’t quick enough to gather photographic evidence, but it was oxtail. The chicken ate COW!

Since then I have been having fun gigging at such events as Webstock and my birthday (which despite James’ absence due to a hurty foot, we had a blast at. Mainly thanks to the lovely Phil Wilson standing in and doing a great job of filling James’ stinky shoes but also to some other lovely people contributing to a fun little jam after we’d played. Rah)
